Albert Fitch Bellows was an American genre and landscape painter of the Hudson River School. He was one of the early members of the American Watercolor Society. He excelled in painting in both oil and watercolor, and was one of the first in America to attempt large etching in plates. He gained great popularity in painting typical scenes in the rural life of both New England and Old England villages.
