About Gilbert Young
Gilbert Young is an American visual artist born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio specializing in conceptions of the African-American experience. He served twenty-seven years as director and conservator of the University of Cincinnati’s vast, fine art collection beginning in the 1960’s. He re-located to Atlanta in 1995 to serve as artistic director for the Paint Pals International Youth Art Competition in conjunction with the 1996 Olympics.
