James Walker (1819–1889) was a British-American painter known for his panoramic paintings of battle scenes from the Mexican–American War and American Civil War. One of his most notable paintings is the 17.5 ft (5.3 m) wide The Battle of Chapultepec, displayed in the United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C., a battle which is memorialized in the first line of the U.S. Marine Corp's Hymn.
