Judith Rothschild was an American abstract painter and collagist, best known for the collage-like relief paintings she created late in her career. Influenced by European abstract masters, including Piet Mondrian and Henri Matisse, she worked in a style that achieved, in the words of art critic and curator E.C. Goossen, a "bold juxtaposition of the realistic and the abstract".
