Mechelen early 16th century, An early 16th century Mechelen carved wooden figure of Anna Selbdritt, Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened and partially hollowed out, the sides chamferred. Minimal remains of former polychromy. Depiction of the Christ Child standing on a throne between Saint Anne on the right and the Virgin Mary on the left. The mark of the city of Mechelen is stamped twice onto the reverse of the piece, along with a hand-written label stating that the sculpture originates from St. Catharinadal Abbey in Oosterhout in the Netherlands. The Christ Child's left forearm lost. Wear and older insect damage with losses

  2. Mechelen early 16th century, An early 16th century Mechelen carved wooden figure of the Virgin and Child, Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened. The polychromy presumably original but partially overpainted. A figure of the Virgin Mary standing in balanced contrapposto, dressed in a long golden cloak. She supports the Christ Child with Her right hand, and He is shown grasping for the open book that She hands to Him. The sculpture is marked to the reverse with a painted house mark “IT” above the number “2”. Minimal wear
